Meet Vivi -- the Relationship Architect

I have been spontaneously coaching friends, co-workers and family members since long before I became a certified relationship coach. Their stories fascinate me, their experiences broaden mine and their emotions— especially joy— enrich my life.

We must deal with relationships every single day, whether with spouses, co-workers, friends or neighbors. But over time, repetitive behavior, catastrophic thinking and negative emotions can get in the way of forming ideal relationships. By mastering interpersonal skills and learning to improve these relationships, we can drastically improve our overall quality of life.

I have been a spouse for 25 years and have experienced first-hand the challenges of maintaining a marriage built on trust and commitment while keeping the spark of passion alive. As a parent of three, I’ve also faced the issues most parents are confronted with, such as the struggle to maintain a healthy relationship with your children while they grow up and reach for their own independence.

Our close friends often refer to my husband and me as “The Odd Couple.” We have a wonderful relationship but I am proud to say that our marriage is not perfect. We’ve laughed and cried, scarred and healed, struggled and celebrated with each other over the years. These experiences come and go, ebbing and flowing like the tides, but throughout it all, our commitment to each other remains strong.

My desire to help others with their own relationship challenges has led to Mentarena. Short for “Mental Arena,” my goal is to provide a supportive arena for individuals, couples and families wishing to optimize their lives through relationship building. What I love most about my work is helping everyone, both clients and non-clients, find ways to put joy and passion back into their lives.

Whether you are starting from a blueprint (dating), constructing a new home (marriage preparation) or remodeling an existing architecture (couples in conflict), relationship coaching helps you to incorporate the best of both worlds — the heart and the mind.

Wishing you passion, purpose, and fulfillment, always!    Vivi

My Beliefs about Relationships

• The most important relationship is the relationship you have with yourself. So be as kind, encouraging, loving and forgiving to yourself just as you would to others.

• Relationships define who you are. We do not truly know who we are until we are bumped up against another person; the harder the bump, the better the understanding that leads to personal growth.

• Love is not a feeling but a verb. Without actions, love is merely a word. If you want more love in your life, take more loving actions.

• The quality of your life depends on the quality of your relationships. Though we are naturally social creatures, at times we face challenges in creating healthy, harmonious relationships. The good news is that healthy relationship skills can be learned and unhealthy interaction patterns can be replaced.

• World peace begins with every single relationship. The ripple effect we have on one another over time is immeasurable. So fight for your relationships rather than with each other!

• Practice, practice, practice! Like everything that is meaningful in life, developing great relationships takes work, time and patience — lots of it.
